Karibu Park is nestled in the picturesque Slocan Valley, in the Selkirk Mountains of the West Kootenays, between the Rocky Mountains and the Okanagan, about half way between Calgary and Vancouver. We are on the pristine Slocan River in the hamlet of Winlaw, centrally located to Valhalla & Kokanee Provincial Parks, and the towns of Nelson, Castlegar and New Denver.
Our spacious campground offers the following:
- 35 private, treed, self-contained sites suitable for tents, campers and other recreational vehicles
- some sites have power available to them – sites #1 to 5 have 50 Amp service; #6 to 10 have 30 Amp service, and 1 through 12 also have 20 Amp service; all these serviced sites also have water
- sites 13 up are without power or water
- water (UV-light filtered), hot showers, dish-washing sinks and pit toilets
- there is a flush toilet and heated shower building at the hot tub
- hot tub and sauna costs are additional
- campfires allowed in sites with fire pits, unless fire hazard is too great; there is also a large communal fire pit located to the east of site 12
