With more than 4000 lakes, water is an incredible wealth for the La Vérendrye wildlife reserve. It includes Great Lake Victoria and two gigantic reservoirs, Dozois and Cabonga, which are fed by rivers with names suggestive of local cultures: Chochocouane, Capitachouane, Outaouais, Gens de Terre. The canoe-camper and fisherman’s paradise is therefore there, straddling the Outaouais and Abitibi-Témiscamingue regions. Take care with large tanks! The landscape may change without notice; floating islands modify the panorama offered to explorers. The more discerning holidaymaker appreciates The Estate and its pleasant train. The camper is also pampered since La Vérendrye has more than a thousand locations. Each fall, hunting brings back the heirs of tradition to these gamey territories.
