A story far from trivial. It started with the daring idea of Marcel and Gertrude Ménard, who in 1963 bought land with a beach on the edge of the Richelieu. The people of the region quickly adopted the Ideal Beach for swimming.
In 1964, a few courageous campers settled and the Ménards saw an opportunity there to seize. Thus, in 1967, Camping Bellerive expanded and was ready to receive visitors from the Universal Exhibition (Expo 67) who were looking for accommodation.
After more than 20 years of work and following the development of activities, Mr. and Mrs. Ménard cede the succession to their sons Doris and Joël who already in 1986, saw big and planned a Marina.
Today, the Camping and Marina Bellerive are flagships of the Sorel-Tracy region. The capacity of the campsite is 300 sites. As for the Marina, it can receive and refuel 100 boats alongside, not to mention the storage space (inside and outside). Since 2011, a new restaurant, on the banks of the Richelieu River, has welcomed visitors to the Campsite, the Marina, but also people from the region who never tire of the magnificent view!
The activities and services offered at the Campsite and at the Marina Bellerive meet the needs of all campers and boat enthusiasts. Nothing is left to chance: from the swimming pool to leisure activities, everything is supervised by competent staff and at the service of campers. In 2007, the Ménards opened a store that offers merchandise for boats and recreational vehicles. This addition completes the boat sales and repair services already done by a team of specialized employees.
More than 65 employees support Doris and Joël Ménard and help support the tradition of quality of service and family atmosphere that reign at the Campsite and at Marina Bellerive.
