Backcountry camping permits for Yukon (Canada) territorial parks were opened on January 5, while reservation at the Kluane National Park is set to launch on January 19.
According to a report, reservations for three popular backcountry campsites in Tombstone began on January 5, at 9:00 a.m.The park’s three backcountry sites, Grizzly, Talus, and Divide lakes, have to be reserved online to complete the multi-day hike in the park.
The majority of September and the end of August sites were already fully booked as of January 12, but several dates in summer are still open.
The registration is required for camping on Herschel Island in Qikiqtaruk Territorial Park and the three Tombstone backcountry campsites.
The territory is home to backcountry campgrounds in total. Camping sites that do not require reservations include Fork Selkirk, Herschel Island, and the six campgrounds on the Thirty Mile section of the Yukon River.
Campsites located at Kathleen Lake in National Park are on a first-come, first-served basis; however, reservations for the oTENTik cabin–tents open on January 19 at 9 a.m.
