Sudbury Installing Automated Payment System At RV Dumping Site

As Ward 5 Councilor Robert Kirwan said following last week’s operations committee decision to close three RV dumps: things are not final.

Sudbury‘s (Ontario) elected officials decided to keep the Kelly Lake Road RV dumping site operational while those at Valley East and Chelmsford water treatment plants will be permanently closed, a report said.

Dump sites were also an issue in North Bay and Sturgeon Falls.

It was the motion that the city administration initially presented to the city’s operations committee back in September.

An automated payment system will be set up at the only dump site with an estimated price of CA$13,184. Operating costs of around CA$46,812 will be coming from operating funds for wastewater.

The motion also asks the city’s staff to make a report that will decide on a reasonable user fee to ensure full cost recovery for inclusion in next year’s budget.
