The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation, and Parks, Ontario Parks is seeking comments from the public on its plan to construct a tri-lane trailer dump and fill station along Highway 60 in Algonquin Park and change the access route Canisbay Lake Campground.

The upgrade plans include building three new trailer dump and fill lanes as well as one fill-only lane. When combined, the park will have a total of six dump and fill lanes for the Algonquin Park Highway 60 corridor.

In addition to the plans, the current entrance to the Canisbay Campground from the highway will be permanently closed for the proposed consolidated 250-300m access road from the Minnesing trail entrance road to the Canisbay Campground road.

Comments must be received within the 30-day comment period, which ends on November 30, 2021.

Algonquin Provincial Park provides recreational opportunities such as camping, swimming, day-use, canoeing, as well as cross country skiing, and snowshoeing in the winter.
