Due to problems with the infrastructure of the wastewater and sewer systems, a Manitoba campground will likely be closed for the remainder of the season, a report said.

Hecla Gull Harbor Campground is closed at Hecla-Grindstone Provincial Park until further notice.

A spokesperson for the provincial government said that workers were servicing the campground’s main sewer line when one of its original lines fell.

The team has been informing people about upcoming reservations. The spokesperson stated that anyone affected by the closure will be notified and receive a full refund including the reservation fee.

Visitors can still visit Hecla-Grindstone Provincial park.

The campground can be found on Hecla Island, approximately 48 km north of Riverton or 180 kilometers north of Winnipeg.
