Police said that officers were dispatched to the scene along with paramedics and Fernie Search and Rescue teams at 11:50 p.m.

Police said that the initial investigation revealed that an Albertan man was driving a utility vehicle when it crashed into a body of water.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle was not hurt, but his passenger, also an Albertan man, died on the spot.
