According to a report, firefighters evacuated Cedar Grove RV Park and Campground on Monday as the rising floodwaters threatened campers near Qualicum Beach, British Columbia.

The Dashwood Fire Department tweeted that it was evacuating the campground northwest of Qualicum Beach at around 1 p.m.

“Dashwood Firefighters are performing tactical evacuation of the Cedargrove Campground.   Residents are to check-in at the Qualicum Beach Civic Centre,” the tweet read.

The campground is situated near the Little Qualicum River in an area subject to an advisory of high streamflow.

The heavy rains caused the rivers to rise and overflow throughout many parts of Vancouver Island on Monday.
