Quebec‘s Brownsburg-Chatham Council has adopted a notice of motion and tabling of regulation to purchase two parcels of land on Route des Outaouais (Route 344) to expand the municipal campground.
Director-General Jean-Francois Brunet said that the additional space will allow for off-season storage on site for boats that normally dock at the marina in the summer months. This will also create 30 to 40 new campsites, a report said.
The cost of buying the land is CA$430,000.
Eleven new sites were already added to the campground recently. The town believes that they will generate about CA$50,000 more in earnings per year.
