BC City Updating Downtown Plan, Assessing RV Park

According to a report, the City of Cranbrook in British Columbia is revising its Downtown Plan, which will be incorporated into creating the Downtown Revitalization Master Plan for Cranbrook.

The Downtown Plan conforms to the council’s directives as part of the Cranbrook Strategic Plan 2020-2024. This Strategic Plan identifies the importance of having sufficient downtown parking for current and future businesses while also looking for redevelopment opportunities based on the capacity of infrastructure.

“The project will be broken down into phases and will include aspects like exploring existing constraints, identifying key outcomes, and multiple assessments and analysis—including an in-depth analysis of the Mount Baker RV Resort,” the city noted on the project website.

There will also be opportunities for the public to participate, get involved, and provide valuable input to the project throughout its phases.

“A successful Downtown Revitalization Master plan will be a document that not only showcases and highlights the incredible amenities the downtown currently has to offer, but it will also be a guidebook for future economic diversification, success, and a magnet for innovative economic growth” the statement added.

The document for long-term planning is a concept layout that will determine downtown’s future development and growth.

Analyses, suggestions, and plans to improve the economy, population, transportation land use, housing, and community services downtown are all contained in this vital document.

The city is also seeking members to join the Stakeholder Advisory Group.
