A councilor of British Columbia‘s Vernon city is preparing to present a motion that will address residents who live in recreational vehicles on its streets, a report said.

Coun. Brian Quiring said the bylaws concerning the parking of RVs might need to be amended because certain vehicles are parked with their bump-outs extended, causing traffic to be blocked.

“That needs to be reviewed,” the council member told members at the September 27 council meeting.

Quiring stated that while many vehicles are moved every 48 hours as per the bylaw, he’s concerned about the condition of many of the vehicles that he sees do not appear “roadworthy”. He then recommended an inspection process.
