The British Columbia Lodging and Campgrounds Association (BCLCA) is holding an online auction as part of its continued support of Care Camps of Canada.
The association’s “Auction 22” will feature various items to bid on, from camping nights, cabin stays, experiences, clothing, small appliances, and more.
The money raised from the auction will help send children with cancer to medically-supervised camps to build memories and friendships through the great outdoors. The camp experience equips them with the necessary skills to take on the challenges they will face while battling cancer.
Last year, BCLCA members united to help raise $3,140.06 for Care Camps. Sending a child with cancer to camp for a week costs $1,850.00, so the association is aspiring “to raise significantly more this year.”
“Will you please help us send more children to these specialized oncology camps? A place where kids can forget about the chemo, the radiation, and all the hard stuff that comes with cancer and just be a child again,” the association expressed.
Care Camps helps children with cancer have hope and joy and experience the healing powers that come from going to specialized oncology camps where they can just be kids.
The BCLCA-Care Camps auction begins at 9 AM on May 1 and will run until 7 PM on May 29.
