The motion was made at the recent regular meeting of the commission.
The owner and applicant is Rosewood, and the land involved is located on the western portion of Highway 760 south of Doyle Drive.
The proposed facility will be situated on the applicant’s current 60-acredistrict land comprising 154- Rosewood seasonal .
“The request for the recreationalstorage is to provide an additional amenity to their patrons by proving storage opportunities for boats, utility trailers, and smaller to allow for alternative recreational options,” the administration said in a briefing note to the commission.
“There will be 11 spots, accessible only during theseason of May 1 to October 15. Access will be provided via therein gates off Highway 760, and no access will be permitted north off of Doyle Drive.”
The storage area will be grassed and will not be fenced off since the remainder of thealready has a fence and gate system. There will be eleven storage spaces that measure 15 feet by 45 feet in size and will be required to be at least 24.5 meters from the northern property line, members heard.
The commission has received a variety of letters of concern about this project. The letters raised concerns about possible effects on water usage as well as water supply, security and safety, emergency response times, and traffic.
To address the issue, the applicant stated that security hasn’t been an issue at the location. Thealso said that no further traffic impacts are expected to occur since most of the units located in this storage location are used by the park’s guests, and Doyle Drive will not be utilized for access.
The approval is accompanied by some conditions, such as that the sewage holding of recreationalunits must be emptied prior to storage. Another condition was that camping or any other residential use is not allowed in any RV in the storage area.
