Alberta City Campground Improves For 2022

The Gas City campground has seen a good amount of bookings this past summer amidst COVID-19 restrictions and campground constructions, a report said.

Scott Richter, Medicine Hat City’s (Alberta) manager of business and innovation for parks and recreation, said they were at 95 percent capacity in July and August. September was also a successful month.

This was all during campground construction work to convert the remaining sites into fully-serviced sites.

Richter said that besides the occasional noise complaint, most campers understood that the project would result in an improved camping experience next year.

Alongside the brand-new fully-serviced facilities, Richter shared that there will be two more comfort cabins next year.

In addition, he stated that the improvements to the trails close to the campground would spark an interest in mountain biking. Tenting opportunities at Echo Dale Regional Park will also be possible next summer.
