As we enter 2021, we must not look back but look to the year that lies ahead with great optimism.
We have much to be proud of for the way in which the Canadian RV and Camping Industry and especially our Members and Campgrounds met the many challenges of 2020 head on that turned what seemed to be a dire situation last March into such a bright future as we start the New Year.
I’m truly heartened by the incredible sense of giving by so many in our industry who contributed generously to help those in need of safe shelter, finances or just basic necessities of life.
But I am especially proud of the way that CCRVC’s Member Associations collaborated together to create critical policies and procedures for our Private Campgrounds to open in a way that ensured the safety of their employees and campers. We have not been made aware of any COVID outbreaks at any campground in Canada, and I commend you all for your efforts!
The Canadian Camping and RV Council represents the interests of Private Campground owners across Canada for the betterment and support of the Camping and RV Industry and our Association goals for 2021 will be:
1) Continue to provide communication and updates of interest to campground owners in Canada
2) Represent Canadian Campground owners while engaging with the Federal Government in addition to advocacy support of our members in their provinces
3) Further develop programs and benefits that help your businesses be more profitable
4) Provide education avenues to Private Campground Owners and their staff in order to improve standards and maximize customer service.
We are excited to hold our inaugural Canadian Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo January 18th-21st, 2021. Produced through a partnership with CampCon, the conference will provide an opportunity for the entire country to come together in one national show for the 1st time in many years.
With 22 workshops and 44 Education Sessions, we are sure that you will find the Expo & Conference to be a great learning experience. From new types of guests staying at campgrounds, to record-breaking reservation numbers and RV sales, this will also be a new beginning for the Canadian Camping & RV Council as their first-ever conference and virtual experience.
We are also extremely excited to have Toby O’Rourke, CEO of Kampgrounds of America as our Keynote Speaker who will deliver her extensive insight into the future. We will have David Robinson, VP Strategy and Stakeholder Relations from Destination Canada and a Representative from the Ministry of Tourism offer unique perspectives about Domestic Tourism and the future of tourism after Covid 19. Social Media Strategies, how to strategize to get your Campground business ready for sale and a session from ex-Canada Revenue Agency Team Leader John Bakator on our small business tax deduction issue that you won’t want to miss!
Although this format is new to most of us, many other conventions have been very successful running their conferences virtually and with special thanks to our title partner Campspot and our many other great sponsors, we have managed to keep the cost to attend extremely economical!
